Prayer Warriors Outreach Project

James 5:16   “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”

The Reece's Rainbow Down Syndrome Adoption Ministry was created on the principles of Christianity and the teachings of Jesus.  His command to "defend the cause of the weak and fatherless" is our primary purpose and foundation.  He also teaches us that prayer is a key part of our faith, that it is powerful and effective, and that our prayers are HEARD. 

• John 14:13-14   "And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may  bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it" .  

• Matthew 17:20  "…I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you"

Through our Waiting Child and Family Sponsorship Grant Programs, Reece's Rainbow provides a very personal and meaningful way to change the course of a child's life.  Individuals can watch the progress of that child as their family goes through each stage of the adoption process, and finally, through the family blog after they are home.  But many people who love these orphaned children and passionately support this ministry are not in a position to adopt a child at this time.  Some are not even in a position to sponsor them financially.  But prayer is FREE and can be even more powerful than an adoption grant in finding an adoptive family, helping with fundraising, and seeking God's favor in the health and well-being of each child as they wait "at the end of Reece's Rainbow" for their forever family. 

The Reece's Rainbow Prayer Warrior Ministry was created with three goals in mind:

1. To lift the daily needs of each waiting child up in prayer

2. To lift the ministry of Reece’s Rainbow up in prayer

3. To lift the families whom God is preparing for each waiting child up in prayer

 The Process: 

If you and your family are interested in being a designated prayer warrior for one of our waiting children, please contact Kelly Shamsey .   THERE IS NO COST TO PARTICIPATE.  Each family will be randomly assigned one child with their picture and information.    Older and adult children in the family are also welcome to participate and have their own angel to "pray home".  You can designate whether you would like to pray for a child with Down syndrome specifically, or one of our Other Angels.  You will also receive a Prayer Warrior BOOKMARK for your Bible, to remind you every night to pray for your chosen child.   

We ask for a full commitment at least until your child is home with their new family!!  You are asked to lift that child up in prayer DAILY: that God will provide for their daily needs, that God will prepare a family for that child, and for the work of Reece’s Rainbow as a whole.

You can follow the progress of your child by watching the website for new matches, and following along with new family FSP profiles and blogs.  Any changes in your child's status will be relayed to you promptly!  E-mail updates will sent out to each prayer warrior weekly updating you as a group about which children have homes and any pressing prayer needs.  They would also be able to request information on another child to pray for them.  Weekly inspirational e-mails will also encourage Prayer Warriors to get the word out about RR and the Prayer Warrior ministry to their communities and churches.
