Sweet Leeza has Down syndrome and fetal alcohol syndrome. She was born with a heart murmur, but physically she is healthy. She is severely impacted by the two of these medical conditions, and is quite low functioning at this time. Adoptive families who have visited with her say she is darling, responsive, and will so benefit from having a loving family environment to grow up in.
It is hard enough to see a child challenged in life by a genetic condition, but to be burdened with other problems that could have been prevented (FAS)...that just makes me cry. :((

YAY, new pictures of Nikita!! He is a darling little boy and is doing well. He was born with an open oval window. He likes to play with toys and is interactive with his caregivers. Nikita needs a loving family to help get him out of this crib and be the little boy he so wants to be! He does not have any other medical complications to prevent him from being active and happy in your family.
This orphanage has a history of medicating the children, so many of them look sleepy and zoned out in their photos. It is imperative to find families for all of these children quickly. Wade can be adopted with Nikita below, and or any of the other children listed in orphanage 3.

From his medical records: Heart murmur, open arterial canal, hyperplasia of aorta, open oval window.
Regrettably, this orphanage is one of the poorer ones, with very little outside aid and very little hope. All of the children are tiny and undernourished. These children are immediately transferred at 4, and have little chance of survival where they are sent. All of our waiting children need families, but these have a critical need. Emory is new to this orphanage, and can be adopted with Lydiah or Evan. He was born with anal atresia, but has already had one corrective surgery. He currently has a tube in, and will require additional surgeries. He does NOT have a heart condition. Developmentally he is doing very well. He is happy and affectionate and in need of a loving family!
Emory is still young enough to benefit from early intervention therapy! Please give him a chance!
From one of our adoptive families who visited with him in May 2010: " Emory had just returned from Kiev, where he had another corrective surgery. They built him a lower intestine and a rectum. He is very frail and in desperate need of a family. The director told me that he almost didn't make it through surgery and that the Dr's were surprised by his will to live. The director wants very much to find him a family and made a point to walk us down to where he was so we could get his pic. She also showed us his corrective surgery....which caught me off guard, but she was so pleased funds were available to help this little guy! His rebuilt rectum is at the site of where is colostomy bag was...on his lower left abdomen. He wore 2 diapers, one that went horizontal around the site and then a typical diaper. "
We are so glad to have new photos of Emory, and I am personally touched by the way he clasps his hands, as if he is just praying for his family to come for him.

Evan recently transferred to this baby house. He was born with a heart defect, but was blessed to already have surgery and is doing great now! He is so young, and all three of these little boys could be adopted together!
From one of our adoptive families who visited with him in May 2010: " Evan would give us a big smile when we would touch his hand. He loved for us to just hold him and would cry if we put him down. He sits by himself and is trying to crawl. He can scoot to get to where he wants to go" .

This sweet monkey is ready to come home! Aleksey does have an ASD and a minor VSD (ventricular septal defect), but is doing well and does not require immediate surgery. He has struggled with some upper respiratory stuff, but hopefully better medical care and prevention will help him fight that off. He is doing very well, starting to crawl and a favorite of the orphanage staff.
From his caregivers: recognizes staff groups, played with toys: rattles. Sitting with help, eating with spoons, drinking from a cup with an adult.
The children in this orphanage are VERY well taken care of. They are blessed by the financial and humanitarian support of a very large aid group, meaning adequate food, stimulation, toys, and even therapeutic items. They are all being raised with the typical children, so this helps them be even more high functioning. Even more so, they are shared with us by a loving director who genuinely wants to see these angels find families. We are honored to be able to seek families for these children, and hope we can succeed in placing ALL of them very quickly!
