Our Most "At Risk" Little Boys

All of these boys are 3+ and facing imminent institutionalization.

The closer they get to the age of 4, the more dismal their hope is of being adopted at all. These are the children who do not have the "luxury" of sitting around and waiting to be chosen. They are truly living on borrowed time.

PLEASE HELP US raise grant funds and awareness for these precious, waiting angels. You really can save a life, with even the smallest gift!

You are also invited to send a check (no Paypal fees) to
Reece's Rainbow, PO Box 4024, Gaithersburg, MD 20885

PLEASE designate which child you are sponsoring in your Paypal donation.

for our Most "At Risk" Little Boys
The children in our most popular Eastern Europe program are separated out below by the orphanages they are living in.  There are no family size limitations, and multiple children from the same orphanage can be adopted during the same trip for a very low cost.  The children are separated for the ease of new adoptive families in deciding if adopting two (or even three!) children is a good choice for them.  Our most At Risk GIRLS are also separated in this way, as well as our YOUNGEST children in this country, ages 0-2 years.  Families can choose any combination of gender or age from the same orphanage.  Children from other countries are not as easy to adopt two at the same time, but they are listed at the bottom of this page under "Other Countries".      Questions??

Orphanage 2

Artyom (2)

Boy, Born November 19, 2005

Artyom is HEALTHY, with a smile that can light up a room. He is an orphanage favorite, and is described as very friendly, affectionate, active, and happy.  He has very little time left before being sent to the institution, so someone PLEASE SAVE HIM.
From one of our adoptive families who visited with him in August 2009:  "I saw Artyom today, he is such a doll!!  He is chunky and walks perfect. We were waiting in the hallway and he came out of the baby room like a little man... walked up to each one of us as if he was saying hello.   He pointed at a few pictures they had hanging on the wall,  then the nurses noticed he was out of the room and started telling him to come back in the room to the group.   He looked at them and shook his hand as if to say "leave me alone!" and  we all started laughing.   He has got to be adopted!   He would bring such joy to any family and looks extremely healthy and very smart."
Please give Artyom the chance to have a family of his own!

 Dusty (3)

Boy, Born March 17, 2005

SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!!

Dusty is such a handsome little man, with blonde hair and brown eyes. He has tremendous potential, but was also born with many challenges outside of his Down syndrome.

Dusty was recently transferred to this orphanage from the one he was originally in, and is doing SO much better!     He is walking now and much more active and engaged.   Birth trauma affecting multiple internal organs/systems. Multiple instances of CNS damage. Does not walk. Ischemic cardiopathy,  Anemic stage 3, prematurity stage 1. We are working to get more info about Dusty. Hope someone out there just falls in love, and will rescue him and give him the life he deserves, with access to proper medical care and the chance for a long, prosperous, and happy life!

Orphanage 5

Joseph

Boy, Born September 20, 2004

SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!!

Joseph is a handsome and HEALTHY little boy who is waiting for his "forever family".   He is the middle child of foreign exchange students (graduate level) who have since returned to their native country with their other children :(   Joseph is truly stranded in this orphanage, and needs a family ASAP.  He is already 5 and needs a family right away.

From an adoptive family who visited with him:  "Joseph was the first to run out and greet us from the groupa, constantly hugging our legs, wanting to be picked up and trying to say "hello".  He is verbal but not with intelligible sounds.  He is very inquisitive and responds to caregivers, after some coaxing! At one point he took the hat off of my friend and put it on his head, not wanting to give it back.   He did not get upset when they helped him give the hat back, but went right to his next objective-being picked up!  He walks without visible problems, and appears healthy.  (Without labored breathing or pallor)"
Joseph has been caught up in a paperwork mess, but it is being fixed and he will be clear for adoption very soon.  Now is the time to get started on your adoption.  He will likely have to be adopted from the institution, so he needs you NOW.

Please consider rescuing Joseph!

Charlie (5)

Boy, Born August 18, 2004

This darling little boy needs a family right away. He has light brown hair and brown eyes. He is HEALTHY, with only strabismus as a complication to his DS. His grandmother visited the first year of his life, but not since then.

From his caregivers: " The boy is calm and very kind. He dresses himself and eats himself. Speaks some words. Understand when he is addressed by adults, performs tasks on elementary level. Very interested in toys, can concentrate his attention on books, likes musical instruments very much, and especially enjoys "playing" the piano. "
From an adoptive family who visited with him: Charlie was a little shy at first staying near his caregiver but then with prompting began to sing a song and dance with his caregiver. He was able to perform several songs and poems while doing the hand motions with her from memory. After a while he too would come and give us hugs around our legs. He has more intelligible verbalization but still some speech impaired. He is ambulatory and does not have any visible impairments, appearing healthy. (Without labored breathing or pallor)

Zhora (5)

Boy, Born January 2, 2007

Zhora is too cute! Zhora is short for Georgiy, so don't be confused, this is definitely a boy. Zhora is healthy, except for a minor heart murmur which should not require surgery. He is active, happy and playful, and is the perfect age to truly benefit from early intervention therapy, special education, and adequate medical care.
From one of our adoptive families who visited with him in July 2009: Please note that the boys all got buzz cuts last week when it was in the 90's here, so it looks like they are all bald!

Alec (9)

BOY, Born June 2, 2006

Baby Alec....goodness, even at 3, he is still so much a baby. Alec is HEALTHY, with no heart condition. He does struggle with rickets (lack of Vitamin D), which can be helped once home. It is critical to get him home so his bones are not permanently damaged from it. He has also has cryptorchidism. This can often be corrected with surgery (if just undescended). He needs a mama who can love him and hold him and not leave him sitting all day long. He needs SUNSHINE!!

Regrettably, this orphanage is one of the poorer ones, with very little outside aid and very little hope. All of the children are tiny and undernourished. These children are immediately transferred at 4, and have little chance of survival where they are sent. All of our waiting children need families, but these have a critical need. Please consider one of these children soon!!

Marshall (12)

Boy, Born January 11, 2007

This little muffin is a bundle of sunshine! Marshall is HEALTHY and happy and doing very well. He has blonde hair and blue eyes and is a caregiver favorite! He will really benefit from a loving family.

From ana doptive family who visited with him in December 2009:    "  He is a sweet boy with a great disposition. He plays mainly on his own and seems to be content that way. I have not seen him walking, but I have seen him pull to a stand. He is teething right now so he is constantly chewing on toys and has a runny nose. He got hurt the other day and as one of the workers picked him up he melted right into her arms and allowed her to comfort him. I was encouraged by that because it means that even though he seems not to be very interactive, he is still receptive and wanting cuddles and attention. He really is a sweet little boy and he has great potential. He will blossom with a family and will greatly benefit from physical therapy!  "

 Matthew  (13)

Boy, Born February 5, 2005

There is something so soulful about this child's eyes! An old soul, maybe, but still very much a baby in need of a loving family. Matthew has brown hair and blue eyes. Matthew will be 5 in February, so he needs a family right away.   He is blessed to still be at the baby house, and look how he has grown!  What amazing blue eyes he has!  Up and walking, very active, and a loving, gentle child.   He was born with an oval window, but he is doing very well and has not been impacted by it. It may very well have already closed on it's own.   He is blessed to still be at the baby house.

PLEASE GIVE MATTHEW A CHANCE TO HAVE A FAMILY!

Andrey S (14)
Boy, Born December 28, 2006
Andrey is a tiny little monkey! He has blonde hair and blue eyes. He has also has strabismus, which can be corrected surgically here in the US. Andrey will greatly benefit from early intervention therapy, and will just blossom the way all of our other children have! This little one has an ASD and a PDA, with some impairment of circulation. He will need heart surgery when he gets home. But he is SO young, and will greatly benefit from early intervention therapy here in the US.
From one of our adoptive families who visited with him in May 2009: " He is such a little cutie! I am not sure if he is sitting on his own because he was propped against this fence outside and I didn't get a chance to snuggle him. But he is good size, a bit small for a 2 year old, but with therapy and stimulation, it would only be a matter of time before he thrives!! "
The children in this orphanage are VERY well taken care of. They are blessed by the financial and humanitarian support of a very large aid group, meaning adequate food, stimulation, toys, and even therapeutic items. They are all being raised with the typical children, so this helps them be even more high functioning. Even more so, they are shared with us by a loving director who genuinely wants to see these angels find families. We are honored to be able to seek families for these children, and hope we can succeed in placing ALL of them very quickly!

Peter needs a family right away, so his medical complications can be addressed by US physicians, and he can finally begin to live life as he should! Happy, active, and healthy. Please give Peter this opportunity!!

Nikolai  (45)
Boy, Born April 7, 2004

This beautiful boy reminds me so much of my Reece.   He is already 5 years old and is facing the institution soon.  His eyes are so beautiful, hazel and soulful.   When you wash his hair, it is so soft, like duckling fuzz!   He is very smart, cheerful, self-sufficient, and friendly.  He is delayed in his speech, but if he was able to get it out, he'd be saying "But where is MY Mommy?" (see right).   Nikolai is healthy, active, and strong, and will truly thrive in a loving, family environment.  Please give him that chance!

Sasha  (45)
Boy, Born March 13, 2004

SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!!

Sasha is a precious little gift from God.  He is 5 years old, but is not able to do much of anything right now.  He is very much still a baby.  He may have CP as well, but is considered severely delayed.  He does a lot of rocking...in his crib, in his stroller...to keep himself occupied.  He has teeth marks in his tongue from chewing on it from boredom.   We do not know if he truly has autism, or he is just so severely impacted by the CP or other birth trauma that the caregivers can't really do much with him, and he turns to himself to soothe.
Sasha desperately needs a loving family, and experienced, patient family who can celebrate every step of progress as a miracle of God!   I can't wait to see the person he becomes when he has a family to love him and encourage him.  He will surely remain bedridden for life if he is sent away, and he is facing that soon.
Please save Sasha!
