Missions of Mercy
Our Missions of Mercy are urgent care programs that raise funds quickly to help bring a very sick child with Down syndrome here to the United States on a medical visa. You are welcome to donate to the general Mercy Missions fund, for use in the next mission. Funds must always be raised very quickly, so having some money available immediately is a blessing.

Jan-April, 2007--Angela Maria in Guatemala

Angela Maria came to us very very ill. Her agency was trying to raise money to bring her here on a medical visa so she could have heart surgery. The hope was that she could have her surgery, return to Guatemala, and then be available for adoption. After several months of seeking a hospital that would take her case, they were unsuccessful. The decision was made to change paths and try to find an adoptive family, which we did. However, before the family could gather any dossier documents, Angela Maria got sick again and we lost her on April 9, 2007.
In that 3 months, our generous donors raised $4542 to change the course of her life. At her passing, $1550 of that was given to The Eagle's Nest to cover Angela Maria's medical and funeral expenses. The remaining $3000 was given as an adoption grant for little Heidy in Guatemala, who found her "forever family" less than one week later.
God had a different plan for Angela Maria than we had hoped. She captured the hearts of many...but now she is no longer suffering. Thank you to everyone who donated for her and prayed for her.
