We work with several agencies who have waiting children in Vietnam. Vietnam is located in Southeastern Asia, bordering the Gulf of Thailand, Gulf of Tonkin, and South China Sea, alongside China, Laos, and Cambodia. Vietnam is a poor, densely populated country that is recovering from the ravages of war, the loss of financial support from the old Soviet Bloc, and the rigidities of a centrally planned economy. Many families find themselves unable to care for the basic needs of their child.
Infants and children 4 months up to 15 years are available. The children reside in government-run orphanages, where most receive individualized care by an orphanage nanny, staff to child ratio is typically 1:2. They are very well cared for.

Ngan Girl, Born February 21, 2000 Vietnam Ngan is a beautiful little girl who is already 8 years old. She was referred to us by a family who traveled and adopted from her orphanage recently, and they inquired with their agency about working with RR to seek a family for her! Ngan is a very active, happy, little girl. She is also HEALTHY, with no heart conditions or other serious complications from her Down syndrome. She does have some strabismus, but this can be corrected with glasses or surgery. We are waiting on further info from the agency regarding family and travel requirements, as well as total fees and any possible grants that might be available for her through the agency. Ngan IS eligible for the Older Child grant through Reece's Rainbow, which at this time is $6000. Anh Girl, Born October 17, 1997 Anh is a beautiful 9 1/2 year old girl from Vietnam. She was put into the orphanage in November 2001 by her single mother. She was previously matched with another family but due to some sad and unforeseen circumstances, they are not able to adopt her. We are desperately seeking an adoptive family for her. Anh is very good with the babies and likes to play with her doll. She feeds herself, does not talk much but understands very well. She is shy until she gets to know you and then you can see a playful side to her personality. She has not had any formal schooling. Anh is well loved at the small orphanage where she lives. Most importantly she loves anything PINK! Her blood work is all negative (for HIV, syphilis, Hep B). She does have a small VSD, but she has not been hospitalized and has had no significant health complications because of it. GRANTS AVAILABLE THROUGH THE SHEPHERD'S CROOK Full medical info is available from the agency. One trip for both parents is required for 3 weeks.
