Eva Girl, Born June 26, 2006 Russia Eva is a very special little girl. She is being given one chance to find a family. Placing her can mean the full referrals of many other children with Down syndrome waiting in this far western region of Russia (close to the border with Europe). Eva is 2 years old....her mother was very young when she was born, and she simply was not able to care for her. The truth is that there is no place for her in this society...she wasn't really given a choice but to give her up. Eva is HEALTHY and doing very well. She is doing very very well considering her environment, and will really benefit from early intervention services here with her new family! Please give Eva, and all of the others who will come after her, a fighting chance at life in a loving family, not locked away in a mental institution!!
For more information please contact Victoria Kats at About A Child I have $0 in my grant fund towards the cost of my adoption!

Denis Boy, Born February 2006 RUSSIA This little one is under 2 years old and is living in Moscow City. We will not be able to get any additional information about him, but he can be adopted independently with the help of our licensed attorney and facilitator. Total costs are under $20k. These children are all living in the same orphanage, and families can adopt more than one unrelated child at a time. These children face institutionalization at the age of 4, and are no longer eligible to be adopted once they are sent away. All of our children in Russia are considered HIGH RISK. Please consider choosing one of these angels! 2 trips, both parents, 5-7 days first, 10-14 days second. Only one parent has to go the second trip for court. Ignat Russia DOB April 4, 2001 This
charming little blonde haired boy has Down syndrome. He is a good natured
child, kind and friendly. He can pronounce simple monosyllabic words and
tries to imitate adults' speech. His receptive skills are good. He can
follow simple instructions and is a curious little guy. He will mimic and
gesture to communicate with others. He participates in classes and games and
is very active. He prefers to have things tidy, and can put away his toys
all by himself. He is a favorite of one of the caretakers who often takes
him to her own home for visits. Consequently he is familiar with a family
lifestyle. With his easygoing nature, he gets along very well with other
children as well as with grown-ups! I have $4000 in my grant fund towards the cost of my adoption!

Anthony (RUSSIA) Born Aug. 1, 2003 SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!! Very happy, learning to walk already!! Crawling and taking steps! Anthony lives in a very caring and loving orphanage, and has the benefit of one-on-one time with his caregivers! Anthony’s care taker wrote in his description that his charming personality has gotten the best of her. He has a heart defect which is not uncommon for children with this syndrome. This is an old picture, and regrettably, we will not be able to get any new ones. Please look past this "baby" and try to see him as the beautiful 3 year old he is. He will be sent to a mental institution very soon, and he does not deserve to die there. Please consider rescuing Anthony! Russia's mental institutions are CLOSED FACILITIES. This means that once a child reaches the age of 4 and is transferred, they are no longer eligible to be adopted. These children in Russia are facing a crisis situation. Please open your hearts and consider adopting any of these little ones....they deserve a loving family like yours. ADDITIONAL GRANT MONEY MAY BE AVAILABLE, PLEASE INQUIRE! I have $445 in my grant fund towards the cost of my adoption! |

Maria (Masha) Girl, Born December 23, 2006 I HAVE A $6,000 GRANT!! Masha is a very special little girl. Her birth parents have come to us seeking an adoptive family for their beautiful little girl. Masha is a Christmas baby!! She was born on the 39th week, no complications during pregnancy or birth, she cried immediately once born. Needed no intensive therapy after birth. She has sandy hair and blue eyes. She is very sociable and affectionate, joyful, started to sit on her own and crawl at 1 year and 1 month. Babbling. Caretakers really love her. The family is a “socially positive” family – no drinking, drugs, etc. Both parents are healthy, have no infections, chronic or genetic problems that could affect Masha’s health. Masha has undergone full medical evaluation at one of Moscow’s central hospitals. She has been diagnosed only with Down Syndrome – cerotype 47,XX +21, no other pathologies of liver, infections, and other problems detected. Hearing and vision normal. Good reaction and motor functions. In Masha’s medical card at the orphanage there are currently the following diagnosis: Down Syndrome, development and movement delays, crossed eyes. Open oval window, functional cardiopathy. Masha has lower muscle tone (to be expected in a child with DS – author’s comment). In the Baby House the child has undergone two courses of massage therapy.
