Our partner in Peru is About A Child.    About A Child is one of our premier partners in Ukraine, and serves as our only connection to the children waiting in Latvia, Hungary, and Uzbekistan.

Peru is in western South America, bordering the Southern Pacific Ocean, between Chile and Ecuador.  It is home to the world famous archeological sites of Macchu Picchu and the Nasca lines in Southern Peru.  Ancient Peru was the seat of several prominent Andean civilizations, most notably that of the Incas, whose empire was captured by the Spanish conquistadores in 1533.   Peruvian independence was declared in 1821.   After a dozen years of military rule, Peru returned to democratic leadership in 1980.

Peru is a beautiful, diverse country to visit.   What a wonderful family vacation it could be during your adoption trip!  Not everyone can say they have stood on the top of Macchu Picchu!
