 Mexico
Reece's Rainbow is excited to finally open an adoption program in Mexico! We are working in several different states, all with different requirements. Previously, it was very difficult to adopt from Mexico, with very long travel times and complicated residency requirements. Those are being drastically modified to accommodate American families adopting their children with special needs. Things can be greatly smoothed now that the US has joined the Hague Treaty for the adoption of children. Please bear with us as we finalize the details, but feel free to consider any of the three children waiting below!

Mary Margaret
Girl, Born December 24, 2002
SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!!
What a glowing smile! Mary Margaret is HEALTHY, and doing well. She is a Christmas Eve baby!
She is very active and happy and affectionate. Her speech is quite delayed, and she is behind little Cara in her emotional and academic development. But she is still darling and very deserving of a loving family! She will be a wonderful addition to any family. We are seeking a family quickly for both her and Cara, as they are both nearing the time when they must be transferred to the home for severely disabled children (no other place to go).
From her caregivers: Down Syndrome, her psychomotor abilities are underdeveloped, so is her language ability and her development in academic level in school. Emotionally: She is social, easy going and likes to participate in all activities, socially has adapted well to other kids and staff, she is not aggressive with herself or to others. Goes to the Rafael Arganiz School in which she receives adequate treatment for Down syndrome.
From missionaries who visited with her recently:
" She is so beautiful and very calm. Kind of serious, yet happy. She loved playing with my children and coloring. She also enjoyed looking at books and coloring with a crayon. She walked around with us all morning on our tour. She loves my boys and walks everywhere holding Faith?s hand. She doesn?t speak at all, but she really isn?t all that ?behind?. She is very independent and can feed herself, walk, dress, etc. alone. She is very social and high functioning. I know her little write up makes it sound like she?s really behind Cara. She is in some areas, yet she isn?t. She was coloring and drawing circles yesterday. She loves to look at books too. It?s really cute because she always straightens things up too. I guess she likes things organized. LOL I think she is going to advance very quickly with a family. "
I AM ELIGIBLE FOR AN OLDER CHILD GRANT

Ernie
Boy, Born July 3, 2004
SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!!
Ernie is just darling! Look at that smile!
Ernie is considered lower functioning than Cara or Mary Frances, but he has such tremendous potential. He has shown some signs of self-aggression, but these behaviors have been greatly reduced since he was provided his own "foster mom" at the children's home and has benefited from more one on one attention. He is tiny for his age, but doing well physically.
Ernie was found abandoned, there is no knowledge of any parents or other relatives :(
From his caregivers: Emotionally: Low self esteem, self-aggression, low tolerance to frustration and anxiety. He greatly needs the image of a mother, he was assigned a foster mom at the children's home and this resulted in a reduction of his self-aggression. He has definitely benefited from the one on one attention and support, both physically and emotionally.
He goes to CREE where he receives treatment with neurologist & rehabilitation. He is receiving treatment at the Rafaela Arganiz School which specializes in Down Syndrome.
We have requested more detail about these behaviors, and about his current skill level as far as walking, feeding himself, etc. Will post as soon as we have this information. Please consider saving Ernie! He can do so much and will just blossom in a loving family environment!
Please contact Andrea directly for more information
I have $ 600 in my grant fund towards the cost of my adoption!

Cara
Girl, Born June 8, 2004
SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!!
Look at this little doll baby! Cara is HEALTHY, and quite high functioning. She is very active and happy and affectionate. She will be a wonderful addition to any family. We are seeking a family quickly for both her and Mary Margaret, as they are both nearing the time when they must be transferred to the home for severely disabled children (no other place to go). This beauty was abandoned at birth, and has been living at the children's home since that time.
From her caregivers: Emotionally: She has a high self esteem, very social, calm and cooperating with others, loves and enjoyes life. Very positive for her age, and is always smiling. She receives therapy at the CREE and goes to the Rafael Arganiz School where she receives special treatment for Down syndrome
This is a new program for Reece's Rainbow, but a very stable and easy Hague process with LOW costs. We are still working out the details with officials, and again, will post those here when we have it all hammered down.
Please check back on this page frequently for updates. NO INQUIRIES YET PLEASE.
