Our partner in the Republic of Georgia is Hopscotch Adoptions. The country of Georgia (not the US state of Georgia) is located in central Asia, and is bordered by such countries as Azerbaijan, Russia, and Turkey. The climate is similar to the southeastern section of the United States. The terrain is mountainous and often lush, as evidenced by the beautiful sea sides and stunning views from every city vista. Georgia is the second nation to adopt Christianity as the national faith. St. Nino brought Christianity to Georgia in 317 AD. The primary Church is the Georgian Orthodox Church. Georgians are spiritually and physically beautiful people with creamy fair to dark olive complexion, dark hair and dark eyes.
In the spirit of giving voices to those children in places little known to the rest of the world, Reece's Rainbow is proud to bring the children of the Republic of Georgia to to our adoptive families. This is one of our more costly programs, but we have worked passionately to negotiate fee reductions and grants to defray these costs.

Beka Boy, Born February 23, 2003 SIGNIFICANT RISK, PLEASE ADOPT ME SOON!! This is a chubby little angel with dark hair and dark eyes. Caucasian. He is so much fun, very personable, and can sit and stand unsupported. He is 5 years old now and in danger of being sent away to the institution. He needs a family right away. From the agency director who visited with him in February: this is a VERY funny and engaging young man. He loves his nanny and his foster brothers very much! He is determined and loves the world with such curiosity. He is born to RUN with his nanny holding his hands - full speed ahead! When he has guests he is quick to let them know they are welcome - a real Georgian boy!! He is very obedient and listens very well to his nanny when directed. He so wanted to climb out of his crib when we visited him and was just half way out - scary! Instantly his nanny gently told him to please sit down... and he did so with such sweetness and did not attempt again until he was removed from the crib for play time and lots of kisses. His nanny reports that he loves to eat! Regrettably, Beka is now living with a foster family. They love him, but have no idea how to care for him, and he will truly suffer if he is not adopted soon. He has AMAZING potential. But he is living in a one room concrete "house" with 3 other adults and 2 other children. HIs living conditions are certainly not suitable for any kind of progress! We have many more photos of him and a full medical report as well. Beka does have a heart condition, and probably a thyroid issue too, just looking at how chubby he is. Beka HAS been vaccinated, and his blood tests for HIV, syphilis, and Hep B & C are all negative. Won't you be the family to change Beka's life?

Nika C Boy, Born August 18, 2005 Republic of Georgia Nika is a precious little boy with olive tone skin. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He was born with the cord wrapped around his neck, but he is doing very well now. He does not have a heart condition. He is a happy little boy who smiles a lot (even though we weren't ale to capture one here!). His medical does refer to damage to his central nervous system, but we do not know the extent of that. He seems to be developing along a typical DS timeline with his motor skills. All tests for HIV and Hep B/C were negative. Nika C has been sick a good bit with bronchitis and other respiratory illness, but he has been treated appropriately.

David Boy, approx 3 1/2 years old Republic of Georgia This very deserving young man needs a family very quickly. He is extremely thin, possibly from a feeding problem they are unaware of. He has brown hair and brown eyes. We are waiting on further info regarding his documented medical history. A family who visited with him in September 2007 said although he was thin, he was active and engaging with them. He will definitely benefit from being in a family environment with access to proper nutrition and feeding therapy. Physical therapy will also help to build his muscles and strengthen him.
I have a grant of $3500! Please contact Robin Sizemore at Hopscotch Adoptions for more information! Additional grants through Hopscotch Adoptions may be available! I have $205 in my grant fund towards the cost of my adoption!

Mariam Girl, Born February 2004 This beautiful little girl has dark hair and very deep, dark eyes. She is so pretty! Mariam was born preterm at 36 weeks pregnancy. She has MOSAIC Down syndrome. She does not have a heart condition, but she does have particularly low tone. At 2 years, 3 months she was not able to sit up by herself, yet she was able to crawl. By now she might be sitting unassisted, but it is clear that early intervention therapies will benefit her greatly. She loves to play with her toys, and like many children with Down syndrome, she has a great ability to focus on the one thing she is doing and ignore her surroundings. (man, I wish I could block out half the stuff I deal with daily!) According to the doctor, she loves to be loved on :) She eats well and has 8 teeth. She has been vaccinated according to her age. Blood tests for HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis B and C were all negative.
I have a grant of $3500! Please contact Robin Sizemore at Hopscotch Adoptions for more information! Additional grants through Hopscotch Adoptions may be available! I have $805 in my grant fund towards the cost of my adoption!

Nika Boy, Born May 19, 2005 Republic of Georgia This handsome little man is Nika. He is 2 years old and has brown hair and brown eyes. We have many photos available of him, along with a full medical report. He is a precious little boy who needs a loving family! From a family who visited him in September, 2007: Nika seems to be quite delayed. This is probably a combination of his own natural delay and his environment. He has very low tone. He will definitely benefit greatly from living in a family environment, with access to lots of therapy and encouragement. From the agency director who
visited with him in February: Only a brief time was spent with this
Nika... when we entered the room he was playing with some toys in his play
pen - his play was very appropriate. We were told that his family had
a very difficult decision to leave him in the orphanage and often visits
him. He has a face of an angel and the blonde hair is striking for a
Georgian boy. He has the longest eyelashes Nikoloz (Nika) was born at 37 weeks with an ASD. He is negative for HIV, syphilis, and Hep B & C. He struggles with respiratory viruses often, but most kids this age do! He is under a pediatrician and neurologist's care. he has not been vaccinated at all, so getting him home and vaccinated will mean a great deal to his general health.
I have a grant of $3500! Please contact Robin Sizemore at Hopscotch Adoptions for more information! Additional grants through Hopscotch Adoptions may be available! I have $185 in my grant fund towards the cost of my adoption! |
