GRADY for the Coffman family--Allen, TX

Judith and Randell have been married for 12 years and have a 9 year old daughter.

Randell grew up in Texas, and after graduating from college he moved to California.  Judith is originally from Cuba and grew up in Southern California.  Randell and Judith were introduced to each other on a blind date that was set-up by family members, and soon after they were married.   Both were blessed to have been raised by wonderful Christian parents who instilled a love for God in them.

After a couple of years of trying to have a baby, their beautiful daughter was born, and they moved back to Texas to raise their family.  It was always their desire to add another member to their family, and for several years they have been praying about adoption.  Recently they had been praying to surrender to God's will in their lives.   God's call for them to add this precious little one to their family was loud and clear, and immediately they began to pray for guidance.  Grady will be a true gift to their family, and they are very hopeful and excited to bring Grady home soon.   Big sister is also very excited!

This is their first adoption, and your prayers and support would be greatly appreciated.

SOPHIE for the Bowden family--Poulsbo, WA

Eric and Luba's international story began about 7 years ago. Eric was a single sailor, stationed in Washington State, and Luba was a young woman from Belarus (little country north of Ukraine) traveling with her pastor's family in the US for 6 months raising funds for a church building back in Belarus. One day they met at Eric's church and thought absolutely nothing of each other. But after "accidentally" exchanging email addresses they started a friendship. After a few weeks of emails and phone calls, they started considering something more than being just friends. Another meeting in person confirmed God's leading for them to get to know each other better. Two years and 3 trips to Belarus (to visit Luba) later, they were married. For their honeymoon they chose the USA, and their honeymoon still continues there!

In June of 2010 they began following their friends' journey to adoption of 2 children with RR. Luba's heart was touched as never before, and immediately she wanted to do more for the orphans, be it money, service, or adoption. But Eric - being the logical, reasonable, soberminded person that he is - realizing that it's a great commitment and a huge change in their life, didn't show any interest in adopting. The next few weeks he did a lot of pondering, reading, talking to people and praying… Knowing firsthand what it meant to be adopted into God's family through faith in Jesus Christ, and being convicted of the need to help the orphans, Eric realized that God was calling their family to adopt. Reece's Rainbow was the place where they felt they should look for their future child.

After much prayer, counsel, and conversations, the Bowdens' heart was knit with little Sophie. Their 2 sons (ages 3 and 1) are excited to have a sister and to "share their mommy and daddy". The Bowdens feel that Luba's Belarusian heritage (having Russian as her native language, cooking Eastern European food, knowing their culture and traditions) will be a valuable asset in the process of Sophie's adjustment  to being a part of their family.

The Bowdens hope and pray that their adoption of Sophie will be a testimony of God's provision, love, and great power, as well as an eye-opening experience (that will cause action) for all those who would follow their new international journey.

HEATHER for the Goodman (2) family--Prattsville, AR

Jeff and Sarah Goodman were married in 1999, and they knew right away they wanted to have children. They discussed adoption from the start, because both had a heart for the parentless children of the world.  After their two sons were born, the Goodmans felt convicted by God to add to their family through the blessing of adoption. They signed with an adoption agency and began the long process of paperwork and waiting for a referral. A year and countless roadblocks and closed doors later,  Jeff and Sarah knew God was leading them to consider a waiting child. Instead of waiting for a referral to come through their agency, they started looking at photolistings to see if their future daughter might already be somewhere waiting for them to come get her. Sarah had discovered Reece's Rainbow soon after it was created and had often stopped by.  She and Jeff were inspired by the stories of families who stepped out on faith to adopt chidren with significant needs, but didn't know if they could be one of those families.  When they saw Heather, that changed. After careful consideration and prayer, they felt God meant for them to bring this baby girl home and walk with her through the unknowns associated with her heart condition. They took the "leap of faith" so often mentioned by adoptive parents, believing God would provide and guide in their adoption. They are excited to finally be  making real progress toward bringing their sons' little sister home.

VLAD for the Burick family--West Chicago, IL

Our Vlad has been waiting such a long time!  Praise God he won't have to spend another year on our Christmas Angel Tree!

Josh and Corbett met when they were both teaching at Wheaton Academy, a Christian high school outside Chicago.  Josh, a first year teacher at the time, had volunteered to build the set for the musical which Corbett happened to be directing.  And he has been designing sets for her shows ever since. Thirteen years later, Josh is the head of the history department and Corbett is the head of the theatre and dance departments, and they are committed as teachers to giving their students a passion for learning, a heart for equality and justice,  and a love for Jesus Christ.  As a couple they are crazy about their first son, Syrus, who made his appearance last year on opening night of the musical.  Syrus is an affecionate and spirited 17 month old with a gleam in his eye and an extra chromosome  in his genes.  And this is what brought Josh and Corbett to Reece's Rainbow.  Their love for Syrus and the joy he has brought to their lives has compelled them to welcome their second son, Vlad , home from the Ukraine.  This promises to be quite a show!

VALERIE for the Frye family--Spring, TX

Erin (Dad!) and Emily have been married for 16 years.  Erin works in corporate finance, but is working towards starting his own business.  Emily homeschools the children and runs the household.  They have aways wanted a big family.  So far the Lord had blessed them with 5 children.  They have 3 girls and 2 boys ages going from 14 to 1.  Emily has always wanted to adopt and as a teenager asked the Lord to one day allow her to have a child with Down Syndrome.  Erin wasn't so sure about adoption, but after a lot of  praying by Emily and his daughters, the Lord changed his heart.  The Lord is clear in His Word about His will concerning adoption.  At first a special needs child wasn't something they considered, but the Lord again changed the desire of their hearts.  They are so excited the Lord has directed their paths to Reece's Rainbow.  Another girl!  They can't wait to have pink and ruffles again.  They have been blessed time and time again to see the Lord working.

SEBASTIAN for the Erquiaga family--Osprey, FL

We are so happy our little Sebastian finally has a family!

Victoria and Gene have been married for nine years and have seven children, five biologic and two adopted from Ukraine. The birth of their fifth child, Gabriel, was met with great joy, but his diagnosis of Down Syndrome was met with grief and sadness, mainly due to ignorance about DS. Soon they learned to appreciate the wonderful gift  that God had given them. This gave them the confidence to adopt a special needs child last year and now the enthusiasm to adopt another child with DS they met at the same orphanage.

The Erquiagas are nearly paper-ready, so your prayers are greatly appreciated so they can have Sebastian home before Christmas!

ROBERT for the Clark (2) family--Round Lake, IL

Grant and Bobbie have always known that they would grow their family through adoption – and after nineteen years together they are very excited to become first-time parents by adopting Robert from an Eastern European orphanage.  They are eager to bring Robert home to the U.S., where he will benefit from the medical resources available and a loving and dedicated family (as well as a family that has experience with orthopedic concerns since Bobbie has spina bifida).  Grant and Bobbie had planned on waiting just a little longer to adopt, until the time was “just right” – or at least until Bobbie had completed nursing school.  But God had another plan!

Recently they learned about Reece’s Rainbow from a friend when she gave them a brochure at their church’s annual adoption conference. And after many hours spent contemplating lots of crucial questions, there was one question that stuck out above the rest: How could they let a little one spend the rest of his life in a mental institution? (Children with disabilities are transferred from their orphanage to a mental institution at the age of four.)  Can you imagine a four-year-old’s first night, all alone, in a mental institution?

So after a few other twists and turns in the road, Bobbie and Grant decided to start the whirlwind of a journey to rescue Robert!  The Clarks are working hard – needing to raise close to $25,000 for the process just to get him home.  And they need your encouragement and support to help them get to Robert as soon as possible.  Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to Robert's adoption fund.

Grant and Bobbie would like to thank you for your help and for taking the time to read about Robert. But more importantly, they would like to ask that you take some time to read about the other children who need families – that family could be you, or someone you know!

ANASTASIA for the Williams family--Salisbury, NC

Mike and Traci have been married for 16 years.  They have 3 children - Spenser is 15 years old, Ashlyn is 10 years old and Mason is 9 years old.  Ashlyn, their only daughter was born with Down syndrome.  It has always been Traci's dream to have two daughters so they could be sisters.  Traci came across Reece's Rainbow two years ago and has been praying for the children ever since.  When she came across Anastasia's picture she immediately thought "this is what my daughter would look like if her features took after me with her blonde hair and blue eyes."  She immediately started praying for her and couldn't get her off of her mind or her heart.  It took lots of prayers and now the Williams family is very excited to be adding another sister to their family and is looking forward to bring Anastasia home.   Your support is much needed and appreciated whether it is through prayers or financially.

IAN for the Stewart family--Suwanee, GA

YAY, our Ian finally has a family!!!

25 years ago Gretchen Stewart traveled to Russia as an 18 year old American.  Since then, she has dreamed of returning to Russia to adopt a child. Gretchen has a strong faith and trust in God and knows that now is the time He has chosen for her to be matched with a child with special needs who is at significant risk for tranfer to an institution. Gretchen and her birth son Ari, who is 3.5 years old and who also has special needs, are thrilled to meet and bring home thier new son and brother.

Gretchen is a single mom and special education administrator in the metro Atlanta, Georgia area. She has taught for 15 years and not only has special education teaching credentials and experience, but is also raising a child who requires special care. This will be Getchen's first adoption and trusts in God to bring her successfully through this process. Gretchen feels blessed to have had the opportunity to be a foster sister when she was growing up.   She has also been a part of an adoption in her immediate family and her birth son and her adopted cousin are very close.   Gretchen has a very experienced and caring support system comprised of lifelong friends, family, and those she has worked with and pursued higher education with.

Gretchen would love to add a girl to her family once Ian is is home and has adjusted. Gretchen and her birth son Ari are so grateful for any support they may receive through family sponsorship and invite you to visit their adoption blog.

KAMERON for the Beamish family--Pefferlaw, Ontario, CANADA

High school sweethearts, Sara & Mike, just celebrated their anniversary in May.  They have been working towards an Eastern European international adoption since 2003.  Along the road they have encountered precarious pit stops and detours.  In June of this year they decided that it was definitely time to restart and finish their adoption dream.  It was a friend of Sara's who directed her to the Reece's Rainbow web site, assuring her all the while that a Canadian family could adopt one of these children.  It was a short conversation to determine that both Sara & Mike were open to a special needs adoption, and were committed to adopting one of these angels.  Along with their 3 1/2 yr old daughter, the Beamish family is very excited to be working towards bringing Kameron home, where they know she belongs.

CHARLENE & RYAN for the Eichhorn family--Middletown, IN
Jeff and Candice Eichhorn are so excited and feel so blessed to be adding Charlene and Ryan to their family through Reece's Rainbow!!!  They met in June of 2002 and quickly fell in love.  Jeff proposed that New Years' Eve at midnight and they were married in July of 2003.  They have a very strong marriage and are active and involved at their church.

Jeff and Candice have felt very strongly called to adopt and have been praying about adoption since they were married.  They ran across Reece's Rainbow on the internet 3 years ago and were immediately, deeply, and profoundly impacted by the plight of orphans all over the world with special needs.  It broke their hearts to know that they are often transferred to institutions at the age of 4 or 5 with little hope for survival after that.  Jeff and Candice began praying for the angels on Reece's Rainbow on a regular basis and praying for God's Divine timing and His Divine plan for their lives.  Somehow they knew they were meant to make one of these precious children part of their family some day.

Jeff and Candice thought that a good time frame for adoption might be in the next 3-5 years.  So, they started to make a plan.  You know what they say, "If you want to make God Laugh, make a plan!"  Well, they were on the Reece's Rainbow website in February and it happened.  They saw Charlene and Ryan's faces for the first time and they Just Knew.  It's almost as if God spoke to them in an audible voice.  "These are the children I have chosen and planned for you."   Jeff and Candice's favorite quote is, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." Mahatma Gandhi.   They feel that they have found their calling in life and they pray that they can continue to be a voice and a light for orphans around the world, especially those with special needs!   When they are asked why they would ever do such a thing as this, their answer is simple, "God said GO!  So, we go."  So here they go!  Their family and friends have been so supportive and so encouraging so far and they want to thank all of you for that support and  prayers!!!

LISETTE for the Spencer Family--Mesa, AZ

LisetteScott and Lisette Spencer have chosen to adopt little Lisette into their growing adoptive family.  Dad's baby brother has Down syndrome, so they have always had a special love for these children.

The Spencers are strong Christians who have been married for 11 years.   After 5 years of infertility problems, they turned to adoption, but hit many roadblocks.  Four years later, they began serving as foster parents.   They went from 0-3 children in only 2 weeks time!  They have two precious little boys, and their littlest one Jacob, had Down syndrome.   Regrettably, he passed away shortly after he turned one.  :(

The Spencer family belongs to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Dad teaches Seminary (a religion class for high school students) for their church, and he just completed his Master's degree in Educational Leadership.  Mom is home full time, and will be able to give Lisette the loving attention she so desperately deserves.  Both Mom and Dad come from families with 10 children and they love big families.  There are other adopted members of their immediate families as well, so the notion of adoption is a positive and supported one!

When they saw Lisettes face, they knew she was the one.   They are at great peace with their decision to adopt Lisette, and to honor Jacob in such a beautiful way. This is their first international adoption. Won't you help the Spencers bring baby Lisette home from Eastern Europe?

SANDRA & SLAVKA for the Stancil family--Manchester, CT

Tony & Joellen have been married for almost twenty five years and have always wanted a big family. They have been blessed with three wonderful boys, Chris 27, Austin 23, and Cale 20.  Ever since the birth of their last son they never felt they were finished having children.   Due to some health issues JoEllen was encouraged by her OB/GYN to not have any more children.  Since then they have always considered adoption in one form or another.

A couple of years ago God really burdened them for children with special needs. As Joellen was searching the web for agencies and ministries that support adoption she came across Reece's Rainbow.   It was shortly after that they saw Slavka & Sandra.   After raising three boys they wanted to add some girls to the mix.   When they saw the twins that was it!   Instantly they became smitten with them and cannot wait to bring them home. They truly feel this is most certainly a calling from God.   They have already seen God moving and cannot wait to see what He will do as they work towards bringing home their two beautiful princesses.

CARL for the Dornoff family--Williamsburg, MI

My husband and I have adopted a number of special children, three of whom have Down syndrome. We love all our children but since many of our children have moved to more supportive care and some to more independent care and two passed away, we felt there was a hole in our family. I looked on the Reece's Rainbow site and was thrilled to see so many great children. I saw Carl and thought he looked so sweet, I never thought we would have a chance at a child from China, but they have granted exceptions for children with special needs. We are finishing our homestudy now and then will work on the rest of the paperwork so we will be able to pick him and bring him home. Thank you Reece's Rainbow for helping so many great kids find homes.

DELVIN for the Jensen family (2)--Cedar Falls, IA

Dan and Kim were married on July, 20, 1996.  They have three children; Brittany, Alyssa, and Kayla.  Dan and Kim adopted Kayla through the local county foster care system. Since junior high Kim has been active volunteering, teaching, and advocating for children and adults with disabilities. At the end of April, Kim came across Reese's Rainbow and knew instantly that their family had take action. They are prayer warriors for a baby girl on Reece's Rainbow.  This didn't seem enough so Dan and Kim prayed and felt God calling them to adopt again.  Kim saw Delvin's picture on Reece's Rainbow and knew he was going to be their little boy. Their three daughters are happy to finally have a brother. They are excited to begin this journey to bring Delvin home.

EMILY for the Egan family--
Tim and Jackie were married in 1982 and were blessed with 3 biological children, Christopher 26, Danielle 24 and Jordan 16.  They had talked about having 10 children when they were first married but had no idea what God had planned for them. Adoption had been laid on Jackie's heart when she was a child watching her aunts take in foster children.  She knew then she would one day adopt.  Over the years it became obvious to her that they would adopt from China.  And in 2004 Tim, Jackie, Danielle and Jordan travelled to China to bring Hannah home to join their family. In 2005 Jackie made the trip back to bring Caleb home.  He was to be their first special needs adoption.  He had a heart defect (now repaired).  In 2007 the Lord led them back to China to bring Gracie home at the age of 4.  Her special needs were developmental delays, failure to thrive and webbed fingers and toes. Gracie is now a thriving 6 year old.  In 2009 they were once again led back to China to bring home their "mighty warrior"-Gideon.  He was physically handicapped with a condition called arthrogryposis.  He was 2 1/2 years old and weighed only 14 pounds and was unable to walk.  Today he is nearly 4 and is learning to walk.  They thought their family was complete but the Lord had other plans.

Through adoption blogs Jackie was led to the Reece's Rainbow site and her heart was stolen by so many special children but it was soon obvious that sweet Emily (Anya) was meant to be a part of their family too. She is in Eastern Europe, not China and she is nearly 8 years old and has spent far too long in an orphanage.  They are fundraising and working on their homestudy to try to quickly bring this precious little girl home to their family.

MARTINE for The Gleason Family--Troutdale, OR

Martine came to the US through a medical advocacy group, as she desperately needed heart surgery.  In June her host family picked her up in Haiti. Just several days later she was hospitalized at Emanuel Children?s Hospital for an upper respiratory infection where I was her nurse. Her host mom had told me her story & that she was adoptable. It wasn?t until the following month in July when she had her heart surgery that I knew she would be ours. As I looked at her in her ICU room still attached to her breathing tube & monitors that I pleaded to God saying, ?Oh Lord, she needs a mommy. Help us find her a family.? His response to me was, ?you can be her mom. You can provide her a family.? That night I discussed it with my husband & we agreed that he & our two boys would go meet her in the hospital before she was discharged.  He took our 3 yr old Meshach & Azariah (3months) to meet Mari who was 9 months at the time. Yes, Mari & Azariah are only 3 months apart!

We also have a teenager, Josh Sandoval, living with us & he is very much part of our family. He moved in with us over a year ago with the goal of completing his high school diploma.

In October we received guardianship of Mari & we have been working on medical visa extensions to keep her with us until the adoption is finalized.   We are so blessed that we have been able to bring her into our home while the adoption process is still taking place. She has adapted well to our family & our boys love her dearly.

Currently our Dossier is complete & translated. It is ready to be sent to Haiti, however the orphanage is still working on getting their license to adopt children out and our adoption cannot move forward until they receive their license.

3/9/10---HAS BEEN HOME IN THE US FOR 18 MONTHS, ADOPTION NOT FINAL, BUT MARTIEN IS HERE ON A MEDICAL VISA AND WAS NOT IN HAITI AT THE TIME OF THE EARTHQUAKE
