| The Green Family--Minneapolis, MN

Randy and Sheila Green are finally back on track, after dealing with lots of *you know what* to be able to bring Masha home. In February 2008, they adopted Lera from Ukraine, and now they are headed back across the ocean to adopt another angel with DS, Masha. Siblings Michael, Caelia and Lera are excited to bring little Masha home to be part of their family.
Randy and Sheila have been married for ten years and had 2 wonderful bio children. The youngest, Caelia, was born with Down syndrome. She inspired them to adopt Valeria from Ukraine, who also has Down syndrome.
Valeria has brought such joy to their family, that they are once again adopting another child. Masha is the child they have all fallen in love with and are anxious to bring home.
Masha is a very special child. Her birth family contacted Reece?s Rainbow in hopes of finding her a loving family in America. Her birth family loves her very much but realizes that there is no future for her in her country. She is in a very good baby house, and the Greens are anxious to get her home!
Please help the Green family complete their 2nd international adoption in a year!

SOFIA for the Varanini-Sanchez family--Sacramento, CA
Hector and Jennifer have been married for over 7 years and have three beautiful biological sons: Diego (age 6 1/2), Mateo (age 5) and Joaquin (age 2 with Down syndrome). They thought their family was complete but always longed for a daughter.
In December of 2009, Jennifer discovered Sofia at Reece's Rainbow during the Christmas Angel Tree Project. She sponsored her and instantly fell in love. She thought that Sofia would be the perfect addition to her family of boys. After much thought and prayer, Hector agreed to move forward on Jennifer's dream and together the family decided to pursue adopting Sofia. They can't wait to bring her home and the boys can't wait to have a baby sister. Joaquin and Sofia will be almost exactly one year apart with Sofia being the "baby" sister.

ANDREY, YULIA & ILYA for the Burman family--Mansfield, TX

The Burmans began their lives together over 3 ½ years ago just after Shelly and Madelaine moved to Brian's native state of Texas. Quite quickly after their marriage, Shelly and Brian received the news that they were going to be parents to a baby boy. They were all excited at the news of this pregnancy, but also hoped to adopt children as well. Since the timeShelly was 13 years old and was volunteering with Special Olympics, she knew that one day she would be the parent of a child with Down Syndrome. With Brian's work in law enforcement and Shelly's work as a special education teacher they knew that family was the most important thing to them. It was this strong belief in family that led Shelly to leave the public schools to come home and school their daughter and other children as well. While this has meant a shift in financial priorities it has not changed how much this family loves to be together just as a family. Shelly currently teaches 7 children, some with special needs, in addition to her 2 biological children. The Burmans have been foster parents for the last 1 ½ years and have really treasured the lasting imprints the foster children have left upon their family! They know that God has a plan for their family and trust that He will bring them to a child(ren) who need them just as much as the Burmans need them!

ANNA & TANNER for the Knapp family--Berea, KY
John and Takisha Knapp are so thrilled to have this calling to bring home not one, but two beautiful children from Eastern Europe. Tanner is approaching five and Anna is already five. Being parents is such a wonderful adventure for these two, who have been married for seven years. They have a four year old son, and have been fortunate to have foster parented five children so far. Watching children grow, and living the world's experiences through their eyes is one of God's most precious gifts. They came to this adoption via a route filled with adversity, as they had attempted an international adoption two years ago, but the country closed. They then regrouped, and attempted to adopt domestically. Fortunately they were able to encourage two birth mothers to parent their babies born with special needs, even though it came with heartbreak for this couple. It wasn't until John and Takisha visited a new church that they were called to adopt these two children from Reece's Rainbow. It was directly after that, they committed to adopt both Tanner and Anna, knowing God was in control and would help along the way. Finding the funds to complete an International adoption can be a daunting task. This couple is completely devoted to these children, and know that no task is to great for the Creater. Any financial contribution you feel led to make, will be greatly appreciated, and will make a difference in so many lives.

RUSLANA for the Malone family--Moore, OK
Over the last fifteen years, the Malone family experienced the wonderful miracle of the birth of five children. In March of 2004, their youngest son, Eli, was born. He has Down syndrome. Their son experienced serious and life threatening death for the first few years of his life. This experience drew the Malone family into stronger relationships with each other and with God. Through Chris and Mary's mission work in Eastern Europe, they became aware of baby homes full of children like their son, Eli. They began asking questions about these children and learned that most of them don't live long and they die alone, unloved and forgotten by the world.
In 2008, the Malone's, following God's calling in their lives, sought a child with Down syndrome to bring into their family. Instead of finding one, they found two. Matthew and Micah. Chris, Mary, Matthew and Micah arrived home to Moore, Oklahoma on March 24, 2009. Matthew and Micah had found their forever family and the Malones grew from seven to nine.
Much has happened since March 2009. Eli suffered another life-threatening illness. The two new Malone's have had several surgeries and medical procedures. More mission work in Eastern Europe has been endeavored. They began a non-profit ministry to aid families adopt children with Down syndrome and children who are aging out of orphanages. In early December 2009, Chris and Mary became aware of a little girl who had caught their eye in 2008. Unfortunately, the most recent family who was planning to adopt Ruslana was unable to bring her home from Ukraine and she was schedule for immediate transfer to a mental institution where she would spend the rest of her very short life in a bed. They couldn't let this happen. At just the right moment, God called them to rescue her. He had been preparing their hearts for this decision so that at the moment he called, they were ready to say yes.
The orphan home, upon learning that the Malone's were coming for Ruslana, made arrangements for her to stay at the orphan home instead of being transferred IF they could have their paperwork submitted by February 1 (when the country reopens for international adoptions). So the Malones need YOUR help to make this happen. Though they were spiritually prepared to answer God's call, they are not financially prepared. God will do a miracle! Thank you for your prayer support and for any financial support you may be able to offer. Spread the word and help save this precious little girl.

SERGE, TATYA & ANGEL for the Simons family--Cape Coral, FL
George and Mary Simons are so excited to begin the process to bring THREE angels home from Eastern Europe! The Simons live in Cape Coral, Florida with their almost 2 year old daughter, Gianna, and Mary’s mom, Betsy.
The Simons began thinking and talking about adoption shortly after they were married. It is something they both felt strongly about and knew that one day they would pursue. That “one day” came last summer, as they both felt God had another child for their family, but this one was not to be “biological.” They decided to step out in faith and see what would happen. At first they were so overwhelmed with the need and with all those beautiful faces! While they spent a lot of time praying and seeking God’s will for their life, they felt that God was telling them to wait on HIS perfect timing, not theirs! A few months later, George and Mary felt the peace they needed to go ahead and commit to a precious child, Tatya!
The Simons family is eagerly awaiting their journey to bring Tatya, and now Angel and Serge too, home! Your gifts and support are so greatly appreciated!

ALINA for the Peele family--Dublin, OH
Chris and Lisa Peele met at Ohio State University in the fall of 1988, on the first day of classes during Lisa’s freshman year. Chris was a senior at the time. They married four and a half years later and now have five children ranging from 3-14 years in age.
Their youngest child, Bridget, was diagnosed with Down syndrome at birth. Although they were previously unaware of Bridget’s diagnosis, they quickly came to understand that she is truly perfect, and perfect for them. Bridget is now three-and-a-half years old and is thriving. Lisa wrote a chapter for the book Gifts, 2, about Bridget and all she has brought to their lives. The entire family is involved in Down syndrome advocacy efforts. Lisa also writes and manages a blog about life with Bridget: www.bridgets-light.blogspot.com.
The Peele family was not initially looking to expand, but as part of their Down syndrome advocacy efforts visited Reece’s Rainbow to donate for the Angel Tree fundraiser. They came across Alina’s picture and noticed that she looks a lot like Bridget. Lisa and Chris were immediately drawn to her. Lisa looked up the meaning of “Alina” to discover that her name means “light”—a major theme in their lives thus far. They realized that Bridget would benefit from having another sibling with Down syndrome so close in age, and that the entire family was entirely prepared to welcome Alina. Together, they decided that not only could they manage another child, but that Alina herself was meant for them, and they for her. Chris and Lisa both feel that the events of the past 15 years have prepared them for Alina and for their journey of international adoption. They were ready to commit to adopting her, and wanted to make sure the rest of the kids were in agreement.
The older Peele children are sensitive and compassionate and excited to welcome another sibling with Down syndrome. “This little girl needs a family, and we are the perfect family for her,” said Kyle (12). A show of hands at the dinner table was unanimous to make Alina part of the family and bring her home as soon as possible. As a group, the family has decided to keep her name. They think Alina is beautiful and meaningful. They also know that she will need to adjust to many new aspects of life soon, and would like for her feel some comfort in being known by her given name.
“Alina” is a variation of Eileen, which is particularly special, as it is the middle name of Lisa’s aunt Denise, her mom’s sister. Alina’s middle name will be Caroline--after another very special family member who passed away in 1997. Alina’s arrival in the United States is greatly anticipated by immediate and extended family and a large network of friends. She will be loved, cherished, and offered every opportunity to live a full, healthy and happy life. Her adoptive family is committed to giving her everything she needs to fulfill her potential and her hopes, whatever each may be. They look forward, with happy hearts, to learning more about her and helping to make her dreams come true.
Alina \a-li-na: means “light”. Origin Meaning: Arabic Noble, beautiful; Celtic Fair, beautiful; Chinese Big Bright Eyes, Yes definitely beautiful!; Dutch Outgoing; Gaelic Bright, noble, smart; German Diminutive of Adilene, From the Old German "Athal" meaning noble; Greek Light, beautiful; Irish Beautiful; Latin Of the nobility; Polish Beautiful, Bright, kind; Russian Scarlet (color, connoted in Russian with hope and anticipation of happiness); Slavic Noble, Kind; Teutonic Noble smart; Romanian To heal.
Caroline: “Joy. Song of happiness.”

SOPHIE for the Calvaresi family--Alexandria, VA
Our baby Sophie has been waiting so long, and I don't think there could be a more perfect family for her!
Chad and Kaci Calvaresi met at a leadership conference in Washington DC while still in high school. They were married 5 years later, just before Chad began his career as an Army officer. They have been married for nearly 16 years and have been blessed with three biological children. Their oldest daughter Kira will be 15 on Christmas day. Their son Chase is 12 and their youngest son Seth is 9. Seth is autistic. At the age of 4 he was non-verbal, not potty-trained, hurt himself, and spent most of his day “absent”. Kaci beat down doors to get him help and now at the age of 9, he never shuts up, he is thriving in a mainstream 3rd grade classroom and the only signs of autism are his lack of tact (which most people find amusing), and his tendency to provide sound effects for every situation. He has his own theme song ;).
Chad and Kaci have always felt that their family was incomplete and they began talking several years ago about adopting. They knew that they wanted to adopt internationally and in the past year God put it on their hearts that their family should be completed with a special needs child. God has blessed this family in so many ways and they want to offer all of the opportunities that have made a difference in Seth’s life to a child who otherwise may never reach their potential.
The minute they saw Miss Ana-Sophia, they knew that she belonged with them. Seth can’t wait to be a big brother and Kaci, Chad, Kira, and Chase just can’t wait for the opportunity to give this little girl all the love that she deserves.

MOISEY, ELIZAR, ANGELINA, & ELISEY for the Burgreen family--Molena, GA
James and April Burgeen have been married for 13 years and have three birth children: Fionna, Caeleigh, and Nathanael. They have considered adoption for many years, but the door was never open to the opportunity.
Recently, a friend sent an email with the link to Reece’s Rainbow. James opened the web site and saw the pictures of Moisey, Elizar, Evangelina, and Elisey. He knew that he had found the children that would complete his family.
The Burgreens are just beginning the process to ransom these children from their current conditions. It is their desire to get them home as soon as possible.
This is a HUGE leap of faith, to adopt four children under the age of 6, at least two with significant special needs and one who has already been transferred. Your help for this family financially as they step forward to save these beautiful children will be so appreciated!

ZOYA for the Basile family--Erie, PA
Shawn and Sarah are excited to be first time parents through adoption! They feel so blessed to have the opportunity to bring Zoya home. When they saw her picture on Reece’s Rainbow, they knew those angel eyes were something special! Just a year ago, Shawn and Sarah would have never believed they would be embarking on this journey to bring such a special little girl home. They had plans of their own, but soon realized God had other plans. Shawn and Sarah have been married for 4 years and share a passion for children with special needs. God clearly spoke to their hearts over a period of time to lead them to adopt a child with Down Syndrome. Once their eyes were open to the need for loving families for these children, they could not turn back. This family is so excited to give Zoya her own special and valued place in the world!
The Basile Family can’t wait until they have Zoya in their arms! Your prayers and support are greatly appreciated!

| VIOLET & SOPHIA for The Salem Family--Woodland Park, CO

Anthony and Adeye are blessed with five children. Three biological boys and two daughters adopted from China. Both have special needs. They are a homeschooling family who live in Colorado.
The first time Anthony and Adeye laid eyes on Violet their hearts almost stopped. Were they looking at the right child? Was she really four years old? She looked more like an infant. They inquired and got their answer--she was indeed four! How could it be? How could a four year old weigh only 15-20 pounds? She is a virtual baby. After much prayer and seeking God on their role, they finally got their answer from heaven?GO!
They heard the call and are going?to bring home this precious and most adorable little angel. God has been so faithful to provide for their two previous adoption?they know He will do it again.
Violet will soon be known as Hailee--"heroine"--because she will overcome many obstacles. She will be victorious!

SVETLANA for the Thornell family--St. Augustine, FL
Our beautiful Svetlana has found her family!!!
Dan and Nancy Thornell have been married for 20 years. They moved from the cold north to sunny Florida 14 years ago. They spent many years enjoying themselves, traveling, even living on a sailboat for a year and a half.
They decided to expand their family six years ago and immediately decided upon adoption. Their son, Danny, is 7 and came home from Belarus at 20 months of age. They were waiting for a court date for a little girl from his groupa when Belarus shut down all international adoptions in 2004.
At that time they switched to Ukraine. They spent 5 weeks in Oct/Nov 2005 and sadly came home empty handed. The NAC became the SDA and things slowed way down so they switched to Guatemala. Their daughter, Victoria, is now 3 and came home at 7 months old.
It has been three years and they feel the calling again, but decided they really wanted a child with special needs for their very special family. Their son has many developmental issues that they have dealt with since he came home. He is now going to a private school and getting neuro retraining.
They have noticed a huge change in his issues and things are finally coming together. So it is time for another gift from God J
Svetlana has drawn them since they first saw her picture on RR. The kids are so excited to have a sister. The family can not wait to travel and bring her home! Your donations and help are greatly appreciated!

Darrel and Shonette Koebel are a family full of love. They have 9 children. They have adopted 5 of their children from the U S foster care system. They saw this little one and just knew she was their daughter they had been looking for. The world may see these children as mistakes. But they see them as God?s special creation.
Darrel and Shonette are so excited about adopting Cordi, and can?t wait to add her to their family.
Your help for this family as they make their first international steps are greatly appreciated! As you all know, it costs a great deal more to adopt internationally than from foster care!

| HALLIE & MICHAEL for The Ehlers Family--Kansas City, MO

The Ehlers met 25 years ago when they were teenagers in a youth group together. They remained good friends over the years. About 5 years ago, they came to know that they were meant to be more than friends and were married a short time later. It wasn?t long before they felt their family was incomplete. Adoption was the obvious choice to fill the void and a special needs child was a given. They started a year and a half ago getting their home study ready. They then scoured the Reece?s Rainbow site, and various other sites, looking for the children God intended them to raise.
When the found Hallie on Reece?s Rainbow, they knew she was missing from their family. The only additional thing they could have asked for was if she were to have a little brother they could also adopt. God showed them, a few weeks later, that she had a little brother, just not by birth. Michael was just listed on the Reece?s Rainbow site and his eyes spoke volumes. The Ehlers decided to adopt both children concurrently. Unfortunately, since the children are not biological siblings, most of the fees are doubled. But they knew these were their children, and God would provide.
Both of the children have limb differences and Hallie is especially vulnerable in her Eastern European orphanage due to the weakened immune system also indicative of her genetic disorder. The Ehlers ask that you take a moment to pray for their health and safety while they wait to come home. Thank you for reading their story.

HUNTER for the Lewandoski Family--St. Michael, MN
Rich and Jodi Lewandoski are hoping to adopt Hunter from Eastern Europe. They have been married over 19 years and the “seed of adoption” was placed in their hearts shortly after their marriage when they learned about all the Romanian orphans and the great need. The Lord had other ideas though and blessed them with 6 biological children. Two of their children had serious medical issues, one with severe craniosynostosis and one with insulin dependant diabetes. Fortunately, they are both doing fine now.
Jodi has always been a stay at home mom and their children came in sets of three; the first three are now 19, 17 and 15 and the youngest ones are 7, 5 and 2. About a year and a half ago that “seed” started growing again - being inspired by Steven Curtis Chapman’s family and the tragic loss of their adopted daughter Maria. As a result, Jodi started exploring the possibility of expanding their family yet again.
By chance she came across Reece’s Rainbow and was looking at all the waiting children when she came to a face she couldn’t get off her mind. It was of the sweetest little boy in the world, so small and innocent and SO in need of a Mama and Papa. After much prayer and family discussions, mostly about how to tackle the financial obstacles of adoption, they happily committed to Hunter.
Jodi will tell you it was one of the happiest days of her life when she knew in her heart that he would really be hers and as for Rich, he has always said he wanted his “quiver full of arrows”. Their family would really appreciate your prayers for this new journey they are about to embark on, and hopefully they will have their new son home this winter!
