Birthday Parties

A very popular trend these days is to invite guests to donate money to your favorite charity instead of bringing traditional birthday presents to your child's party.  This fundraising idea is appropriate for the parties of our children with or without Down syndrome, and at any age.  Teenagers may find a great sense of pride in choosing to do this too!  It is a great way to raise money for the waiting children, to increase awareness about the existence of Reece's Rainbow, and to give guests the opportunity to be part of something very meaningful!   Folks can put a check in the card made out to Reece's Rainbow, or they can visit the website and contribute online.  All donations will receive a tax deductible receipt.

Below is an example of my son Owen's birthday invitation from November of this year.  The Lord knows he doesn't need ANYTHING!  I don't have space in my house for more toys, or clothes, or DVD's.  But the idea of his friends and their families contributing to a child's adoption grant IN HIS HONOR is moving for me.  I hope it is for you too!
