Our Most "At Risk" Little Girls
These are REAL children who need adoptive families to save them from being institutionalized.
Even if you are not in a position to adopt, your financial sponsorship and gifts can literally CHANGE THE COURSE of one or more of these girls' lives. PLEASE HELP US raise grant funds and awareness for these precious, waiting angels. You really can save a life, with even the smallest gift!
You are also invited to send a check (no Paypal fees) to
Reece's Rainbow, PO Box 4024, Gaithersburg, MD 20885
PLEASE designate which child you are sponsoring in your Paypal donation.
The children in our most popular Eastern Europe program are separated out below by the orphanages they are living in. There are no family size limitations, and multiple children from the same orphanage can be adopted during the same trip for a very low cost. It is now easier for potential adoptive families to consider if adopting two (or even three!) children is a good choice for them. Our most At Risk BOYS are also separated in this way, as well as our YOUNGEST children in this country, ages 0-2 years. Families can choose any combination of gender or age from the same orphanage. Children from other countries are not as easy to adopt two at the same time, but they are listed at the bottom of this page under "Other Countries". Questions??

Jenny (3)
Girl, Born November 17, 2006
Look how our little sleepy puss has grown! Little Jenny was very sleepy when one of our families first visited with her! But now she is only 2 1/2 years old, with blonde hair and blue eyes. How I can't wait to see her ringlets and ribbons in her hair!
From one of our adoptive families who visited with her in August 2008: "Jenny was so sleepy, we could hardly wake her for her picture! I don't have much information on her. She is a sweet little baby and will be a joy to any family! "
Jenny is HEALTHY and waiting for her family! These girls are at risk of being taken into a new foster care program in their region. Technically that should be a good thing, but there are still no resources for them, no place in their society, and no care for them as adults. Families who are paper-ready would be the ideal choice for these angels, but any family is welcome. Families committing to these girls must be open and aware that they may need to choose a different child at some point during the process, if the child ends up being fostered by a native family.

Miriam (3)
Girl, Born July 4, 2005
Miriam is a precious little girl who is quite high functioning and healthy. She is an orphanage favorite! She is able to speak some words, and is very active. She is described as " communicative and cheerful". She will be a delightful addition to any family! Miriam was born with a heart condition, but recently had a successful correction and is doing great!! She is blessed to have been able to have corrective surgery, but will need to be seen by a cardiologist once home for follow up.

Melissa
Girl, Born 2006
This little muffin wasn't real happy about having her picture taken, but she's also not making it real easy to find her a family either! It is often difficult for people to see past a "bad day" and choose to bring a child into their family with so little to "go on".
Melissa has Down syndrome, but also some mild CP from slow prenatal development, for whatever reason. We hope to get a better photo of her, but it is doubtful. Having a bad picture is the number one reason children are passed over for others with a great profile pic. Please consider Miss Melissa, and give her a REASON to smile!

Elizabeth (12)
Girl, Born November 16, 2004
Liza is a darling, happy, and helpful little girl who is waiting for her forever family. She is already 5 and facing imminent institutionalization, potentially to a place she can NOT be adopted from later :(
Liza is HEALTHY and doing so well. From one of our adoptive families who visited with her recently:
"My impression of her is that she is very loving. Quite the cuddle bug. Very even tempered. Laid back, easy going. Likes hugs, a LOT! Middle of the line as far as development, not super ahead of the class, but certainly not far behind others in her groupa either. Tons of potential with a little love! She walks and smiles. She clearly understands why we are here, and you can tell she wants her own family too. I really want a MOMMY for her!" From a missionary and developmental specialist who recently visited with her: Elizabeth is a very friendly little girl who craves attention, especially hugs, from everyone who shows up at her Baby House. Elizabeth is high functioning and is able to imitate gestures and words (both English and Russian). She displays a good attention span, considering her experiences, when presented with a learning activity such as nesting cups. She is very eager to please and listens and waits for directions. When she realized that the 'Mama's' visiting were not for her, she pouted and ran to a careworker, who ignored her and offered her no comfort. She then sat to the side looking so sad. She demonstrated the ability to learn. She is able to feed and dress herself and was in underwear instead of diapers, so she is at least toilet 'regulated'. She is so sweet and would make a wonderful big sister or little sister and deserves a family of her own. She is due to be transferred very soon!!! I have a video available also!!! "

Anya (12)
Girl, Born December 14, 2006
Anya is a pretty little girl with unique facial features. She was born with a minor defect of interventricular and interatrial septum. A family visiting with her felt she may have some autistic tendencies, but it is also possible she has adual diagnosis of Moebius Syndrome. We are trying to confirm this. http://www.faces-cranio.org/Disord/Moebius.htm
There is no blood test to confirm Moebius, so it is diagnosed on clinical symptoms such as a lack of facial expression and a uniquely shaped nose.

Ivanna (13)
Girl, Born November 26, 2005
Ivanna is already 4 years old and facing imminent institutionalization! She is a precious little girl, with medium brown hair and blue eyes. She is a happy little girl, but so desperately needs a loving family to help her be all she can be. Ivanna has an ASD (atrial septal defect). It is more significant than Alyona's, and she is not walking yet. She will definitely need to be seen by a cardiologist when she gets home, but she need a family quickly so proper attention can be provided for her heart condition.
Ivanna has very low tone and is not walking yet. She is much lower functioning than Alyona, but also one who will regress quickly and waste away to nothing if she is sent to an institution ;(((
Ivanna is one of those kids who will truly blossom in a family setting with love and encouragement!
Both Ivanna and Alyona are in the same orphanage and can be adopted together.
Ivanna REALLY needs a family, and will truly blossom once home. Please give her the chance to reach her full potential!

This pretty muffin is waiting for her family! She is healthy, with no heart condition noted in her records. She has brown hair and brown eyes, and is already up and learning to walk! Lena (36)
Girl, Born November 2, 2004
Lena is a beautiful little girl with brown hair and brown eyes. She was born with Down syndrome, but also struggles with the effects of possible CP and likely some autistic tendencies. She is able to walk on her own and is described as very active, but she does not socialize very much with the other children and is non verbal at this time. It is children like Lena that break my heart so badly, because in an institutional setting, which she is facing soon, she will just continue to close off into herself and truly become one of those children we envision as "institutionalized". :( I know there is a family out there for this very deserving little girl!

Cara
Girl, Born June 8, 2004
I LOST MY FAMILY
Look at this little doll baby! Cara is HEALTHY, and quite high functioning. She is very active and happy and affectionate. She will be a wonderful addition to any family. We are seeking a family quickly for both her and Mary Margaret, as they are both nearing the time when they must be transferred to the home for severely disabled children (no other place to go). This beauty was abandoned at birth, and has been living at the children's home since that time.
From her caregivers: Emotionally: She has a high self esteem, very social, calm and cooperating with others, loves and enjoyes life. Very positive for her age, and is always smiling. She receives therapy at the CREE and goes to the Rafael Arganiz School where she receives special treatment for Down syndrome
Cara is in the same orphanage with Mary Margaret, and both girls could be adopted together.
